Tamás Dombos

An economist, sociologist, and anthropologist, he has extensive experience in academic research and teaching. Between 2001 and 2011, he worked as a researcher at CEU’s Center for Policy Studies, contributing to equal opportunities–focused research projects. From 2015 to 2017, he taught as a lecturer at ELTE’s Faculty of Social Sciences, and between 2018 and 2020 he was a researcher at ELTE’s Faculty of Law. From 2017 to 2021, he also served as an expert at the Faculty of Law Enforcement of the University of Public Service.

He has been working with Háttér Society since 2007—first as a volunteer, later as a staff member, and subsequently as an executive board member. His work focuses on coordinating the organization’s research and advocacy activities, supporting its legal aid service, and maintaining international partnerships. Between 2012 and 2021, he served as an executive board member of the Hungarian LGBT Alliance umbrella organization. He was an executive board member of Háttér Society from 2014 to 2022, and has held this role again since 2025.
