FACT SHEET: COMMISSIONERS

Young LGBT+ people have the right to access general services that are safe, inclusive and non-
judgemental. In addition, they also have the right to services which specifically address their needs

as an LGBT+ person, or someone questioning their gender or sexuality.
All commissioned public services that work with children and young people should demonstrate in
their work that they meet the specific needs of young LGBT+ people. This should be evidenced
through consultation, training, monitoring and evaluation.
