Colourful Childhoods - Empowering LGBTIQ children
Between February 2022 and 2024, Háttér Society is coordinating a training, developmental and awareness-raising project across Europe entitled Colourful Childhoods - Empowering LGBTIQ children in vulnerable contexts to combat violence across Europe.
Objectives:
- increase the knowledge of professionals working with children to prevent LGBTQI children from becoming victims
- Prevention and early detection of victimization among LGBTQI children, with a special focus regarding the pandemic
- developing strategies to promote the well-being of vulnerable LGBTQI children
- shaping public opinion on issues affecting LGBTQI children
Activities:
- survey and data collection on violence against LGBTQI children and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their overall well-being
- organizing workshops for children (in countries where this is legally possible), while taking the experience of service providers and professionals into account
- training professionals to address the needs of vulnerable LGBTQI children
- expanding the e-learning interface for professionals working with children under the Diversity and Childhood project
- dissemination of project results, knowledge and awareness raising campaigns
