Submission by Háttér Support Society for LGBT People in Hungary for the OSCE ODIHR 2010 Annual Report on Hate Crimes

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights prepares a report every year about the situation concerning hate crimes in the OSCE countries. From this year onwards, data provided by NGOs will also be taken into consideration when compiling the report.

The report prepared by our organization summarizes the finding of the LGBT Survey 2010 on experiences of violence, details five hate crime cases against LGBT people and their handling by state institutions in 2010, and describes the pilot training project for police officers on hate crimes performed in the framework of the Progress program by Háttér.
